James Engman, Jr

Also known as Herr Gustof

Stealing another fencer from the competitive program, James Engman had completed the Redlands Gold Blade trifecta (foil, epee, saber) and was looking for a challenge. James turned to the theatrical stage combat class and appeared for the first time as an archer for Oklahoma Shakespeare In The Park's preshow melee for MacBeth. His first role with any teeth was as a wharf rat for Scarlett Mid-Winter's masked brawl (2008), moving swiftly to the Norman Medieval Faire, Madrigal Dinner, and a variety of demonstrations. James continued with
2009's Morpheus In The Underworld at the Norman Medieval Faire; however, 2010 was his best season thus far using court sword, cutlass, and heavy weapons throughout (Norman Medieval Faire, Missouri Renaissance Festival, Kings Champion Medieval Faire).
